Free telehealth consultations that help uninsured and under-insured women obtain a referral for an early screening mammogram, removing the first barrier between women and life-saving early detection.
Why This Grant Exists
In the United States, the standard age to begin routine screening mammograms is 40. But breast cancer does not wait for an age threshold: women under 40 with a family history of the disease or other risk factors are also at risk and can benefit from early screening.
Yet millions of women have no healthcare provider to order an early screening mammogram. Without that order, the imaging appointment simply cannot happen, even when they are ready, willing, and aware. Early screening makes early detection possible, and early detection saves lives. This grant closes that gap.
How It Works
Apply Online
Complete the virtual consult order form, answering medical history questions. Please fill out the form as accurately as possible. This is the information the licensed provider will review.
Receive a Response
If your grant is approved, we forward your consult order to a telehealth provider who reviews it and determines whether early screening is medically appropriate for you. If the provider determines that early screening is appropriate, you will receive a mammogram order referral that can be used at any imaging center. If the provider determines that early screening is not appropriate, they will share their reasoning with you.

Eligibility
Is This Grant Right for You?
The grant is intended for individuals who require a medical consultation to determine whether they qualify for an early screening mammogram. It is not intended for routine screening mammograms for average-risk women who can obtain screening without a consultation. You may apply if the following applies to you.
No proof required at sign-up
We rely on self-attestation. Our goal is to make access simple and respectful, not burdensome.
Reside anywhere in the United States
Women under 40 with a family history of breast cancer or other increased risk factors who need a medical consultation to determine whether early screening is appropriate
Not currently have an active mammogram order
Self-attest that financial barriers prevent obtaining a consultation
Agree to complete a brief follow-up survey after the consultation

How Awards Are Made
Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Each grant cycle remains open until all available grants have been awarded, then the program pauses until the next cycle.
