We fund your virtual consultation with a licensed healthcare provider to determine whether an early screening mammogram is medically appropriate. If the provider recommends screening, you'll receive a mammogram order that you can use to schedule your mammogram.
Why This Program Exists
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide. While routine screening is generally recommended beginning at age 40 for women at average risk, some younger individuals may have personal or family risk factors that warrant an earlier medical evaluation.
For many women under age 40, a screening mammogram typically requires a referral or mammogram order from a licensed healthcare provider before it can be scheduled. Obtaining that evaluation can be a barrier for those without a primary care provider or who face financial or access challenges.
The Early Screening Access Program helps remove that barrier by providing eligible participants with access to a funded virtual consultation to determine whether an early screening mammogram may be medically appropriate.
Through this program, ASL Pink Foundation covers the cost of a virtual consultation, where a licensed healthcare provider reviews your health information and determines whether an early screening mammogram is medically appropriate based on your individual risk factors. If medically appropriate, you'll receive a mammogram order to help you schedule your screening.

To be eligible, applicants must:
- Reside in the United States.
- Be at least 18 years old and under the recommended screening age of 40, or have concerns that may warrant an early screening mammogram.
- Have one or more breast cancer risk factors, such as a family history of breast or ovarian cancer, a known genetic mutation, previous chest radiation, dense breasts, or another risk factor identified in the application.
- Face financial or access barriers to obtaining a healthcare consultation.
- Complete the program application and provide accurate health information.
Please note: Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee approval or that a mammogram order will be issued. The decision to issue a mammogram order is made solely by the licensed healthcare provider after reviewing your health information.

Yes. Approved participants do not pay the consultation fee. ASL Pink Foundation pays the consultation fee directly on their behalf.
The consultation is provided through RadiologyAssist by a licensed healthcare provider.
The virtual consultation is completed through a written review of the health information you submit. In most cases, you will not need to schedule a phone or video appointment.
If the licensed healthcare provider needs additional information to complete your evaluation, they may contact you by email.
If a mammogram order is issued, you will receive an email with a secure link to download your mammogram order.
RadiologyAssist may contact you by phone or email to offer assistance scheduling a paid mammogram. ASL Pink Foundation has no financial or business relationship with RadiologyAssist and does not receive commissions or referral fees.
No, you are not required to use RadiologyAssist's imaging services. You may use your mammogram order at the imaging facility of your choice, and ASL Pink Foundation can help connect eligible participants with free or low-cost mammography resources when available.
If the healthcare provider determines that an early screening mammogram is not medically appropriate, they may recommend following standard screening guidelines or discussing your concerns with your primary healthcare provider.
No. ASL Pink Foundation does not have access to your mammogram order or your medical records. We only have access to the information you voluntarily provide in your application for the Early Screening Access Program. Your mammogram order and any notes from the licensed healthcare provider are sent directly to you by RadiologyAssist.
Once you receive your mammogram order, you may schedule your screening mammogram at the imaging center of your choice. Your mammogram order is valid at any imaging center that accepts screening mammogram orders. After your consultation, ASL Pink Foundation will send you a brief follow-up email or survey to confirm that you received your mammogram order and to help us evaluate the program.
No. At this time, the Early Screening Access Program covers only the cost of the virtual consultation. If you receive a mammogram order, you are responsible for the cost of the screening mammogram. ASL Pink Foundation may provide information about free or low-cost screening resources when available.
No. Applications are reviewed based on program eligibility and available funding. Submission of an application does not guarantee approval.
Application review and consultation timelines may vary. Approved applicants will receive instructions on the next steps once their application has been reviewed.

Submissions are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and the cycle will pause once all available consultations have been awarded.
